My mother is completely blind due to macular degeneration. In March, we moved her to an assisted living facility. Before she moved, she had been living independently with caregivers coming in to help with her daily living routines, as well as grocery shopping and companionship. Pauline was one of those caregivers. From the moment that I met her, I knew that she was someone special. She knew exactly how to approach my mother, with a soft voice and gentle touch.

Pauline is an extremely compassionate person. She goes out of her way to make her clients feel comfortable, safe and happy. She brings humor into the mix as well. I have never met anyone quite like her. She managed my mother's care flawlessly. She would contact me when she was concerned about my mother's health or behavior, but she used common sense. She didn't call me for every little thing as some caregivers do. When there were problems with other caregivers, Pauline would listen to their concerns and help resolve the issue. Pauline truly cares not only for the elder but for their whole family. She recognizes how difficult it is for the family as well.

To sum things up, compassion is Pauline's signature trait, however, she is also the most thoughtful, thorough and efficient caregiver I have ever known. She goes "above and beyond" always and I have employed between 30 and 40 caregivers over the last 5 years.
